WHAT TIME IS IT?
Matthew 24:44- - -“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
An elderly couple lived deep in the country. They depended on an old mantle clock for the time. In the middle of the night the old man sat up in bed to hear the clock chime thirteen times. He shook his wife and exclaimed, “Honey, get up! It ain’t never been this late before!
God, in His love and mercy urges us, through His Word, to be prepared by faith in Jesus Christ for His second coming when we least expect it. Indeed, it is later than we think.

Almighty God, we gather in gratitude for this time and place to be alone with You.
Thank You for the living reminders of Your goodness and grace— the hymns of praise,
the fellowship of brothers and sisters, the wisdom of Scripture, and the commitment of hearts.
Help us in these precious moments of common prayer to put aside our personal agendas
and our plans for the week— all those things which move us to be more conscious of ourselves
than You— so that we might listen to You and re-focus our lives to and for Your Good News.
This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord.
